“Melody” researches the spatial organization of activities in the living floor plan. A good floor plan generally assigns all the necessary functions their own appropriate place in meaningful succession.
Here’s how it works: a square ground plan is split in three in both axes. The resulting quadratic fields are subsequently mutually shifted up or down. Then, depending on the placement and position, each field is assigned a particular function: entering the space, cooking, eating, doing laundry, dressing, sleeping, playing, thinking, being.
At the same time a unique composition is created – a formation which can also be realized as a spatial installation or a set design.
